  • Wisdom is empty without understanding.
  • I think sometimes you may end up in the same experiences and decide you may be able to change how you did it in the past and change the outcome the 2nd 3rd or 4th time around maybe? For instance, if you get into a fight over a woman, you lose. So you think "why did I fight over that girl, it wasn't worth it" Then the 2nd time comes around, whether its a different girl or not, you think you may be able to win the fight and the womans affection this time around. At least on a small scale that's how i think of it. Everyone always wants second chances. If you didn't study for a test, you fail. You want to study and get re-tested right? But then you have people that try to cheat the system over and over again. They choose not to learn anything from their past experience. This usually happens with people who have been to jail multiple times lol.
  • Not everyone is capable of becoming wise.
  • That is why one person may have 10 years of Experience, and another may have One year of Experience Ten Times. Something to do with Learning from experience. The skill set you build from experience over time might be called "wisdom."
  • its a karmic thing. i believe we all have karmic debts to repay. sometimes it takes repeated experiences to learn a particular lesson. life is complex ~ its difficult to absorb all the complexities the first time around. wisdom is acquired through deep reflection and introspection ~ that takes time. but most importantly, you have to be open to receiving the message or lesson in the first place. only through openmindedness and openheartedness can you achieve true wisdom and enlightenment. most of us arent ready to change our ways instantly. we have years of conditioning and feelings to sort through and mental obstacles to overcome. but with the right view and right intention, one WILL eventually become wiser.
  • Or refuse to learn from their experiences if it's something that they don't want to learn. Humans are incredibly able to experience "revisionist" history. *** Here is an example. Someone asked a question several days ago about why her boyfriend wasn't calling her. He was visiting his brother in another state and had told her his cell phone wouldn't work there. She was concerned that he was having "soooo much fun". Now, I've had a few life experiences and I've learned. I told her he was lying to her and she couldn't trust him. **** As the story unfolded, it turned out that he hadn't told her that he was actually going to the state to serve jail time. Suddenly, in this girl's memory, the story changed. He wasn't "lying" by omission and she had never worried that he might be partying. Suddenly, she just hadn't asked the right questions. He had forgotten to tell her that. She had only been concerned that his plane had crash. and on and on and on. That is a classic example of someone REFUSING wisdom.
