  • I've had that a few times too, and they were right! It's not that they can read people better than others, people that drink in bars tend to sit and babble to the bartender for hours so they know more about them from that.
  • Lisa, listen to the bartender. Most likely, he is trying to be a good person, and is just letting you know that this person is not worth your time. He is essentially doing a good deed, though he may be serving drinks all night, he sees a lot more in a week of someones life than any of us combined. Usually, this is the sort of advice I would take wholeheartedly, as I have worked in bars, and I know exactly where this type of advice comes from.
  • It's not that they read people better. It's just they see people when they're less inhibited, more talkative, and more likely act like a jackass. Bartending is a unique experience for people watching. You see all kinds, but all are drinking, and usually you're one of the most sober people there. So they're more likely to notice if a guy is creep, especially if he's a regular, than someone that only sees the guy when he is sober. My backup theory is the bartender is secretly in love with you and wants you for himself.
  • Either he wants you for himself,or he is doing you a favor by warning you.Haven't you asked him why you should stay away?
