  • sometimes they really are other the top! just so they can call themselves feminists!
  • feminism is relly very broad .... so you cant really say one way or another... I belive in equality for all ( including women) but I do think that some do go to far !
  • There are degrees of feminists. I remember learning about it, but I forgot the specifics on it. Anyway, I do agree with the initial ideas of feminism and I think the overall concept of gender equality is terrific. However I do think that this newer wave of radical feminism has a lot of ideas and executions that are completely selfish. I consider myself a feminist, but completely disagree with what most of the main stream women of impact have to say. To be further enlightened on the subject I suggest reading "Women who make the world worse" By Kate O'Beirne. Her points are often repetitious, but it's interesting nonetheless.
  • Feminism is defined as the belief in the social, economic, and political equality of the sexes. I agree with this standpoint. Anything else is another agenda added to feminism, but is not feminism. Some activists cross the line into misandrism, which is not feminism, and is just as abhorrant as misogynism. http://www.merriamwebster.com/dictionary/feminism So, I agree with feminism. I am a feminist. I'm proud of it. I want to be with a male partner who is a feminist.
  • I agree with feminism but only to a point. Some women demand absoulte equality with men which, to my mind, is ridiculous. Men & women different and while some things are the same there a whole load more that are not. Yes, equal opportunities etc but where exactly did it become an insult for a man to hold a door open for a women? If only some of the extreme feminists would apply a little basic common sense instead of whinging on and on and on about how unfair life is and that a man is a monster. Zzzzzzzz Men & women are different, neither is better than the other and cannot be compared to each other. However, we do need each other and more to the point, want each other and not just for procreation.
  • I'm defining feminism as the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men or organized movement with those goals. With that in mind, I am a feminist. If you mean 'militant feminists' or 'extreme feminists', yes, they go too far sometimes! But I think that of any militant or extreme group. "The true test of a first-rate mind is the ability to hold two contradictory ideas at the same time" -F. Scott Fitzgerald ...and here I thought I was just wishy-washy! jp-actually I'm quite mule-headed. :)
  • I agree Women are equal and should be treated as such and I think feminists have made alot of positive changes for women. But..........I love it when a man opens a car door for me, buys me dinner or a drink, lets me go through a door, treats me like lady, you know all that lovely gentlemen stuff. But I have watched women be really rude to men when they do these things and you can see the look of confusion on the man's face and I think that is a real shame.
  • They went too far years ago. They should just give it up now. What more do they want?
  • Feminists simply believe in equality for men and women. Some feminists are men. Feminism has nothing to do with man-hating (sexism), sexual orientation, inferiority, superiority, or radicals.
  • They're a pain. I agree with them none of the time because they go too far all of the time.
  • Feminism is merely the concept of equality of the sexes. There is nothign wrong with that. But, like all things there are the radicals which give the others a bad name.
