I didn't know that, but if she manages to get elected as Vice President she'll have bigger things to think about. I suppose the sports complex was a good thing for her community, so I suspect that she may have been right in trying to get it funded.

I knew that... But that does not matter to the authoritarian mindset. Once Palin's supporters have decided that she is a 'fiscal conservative reformer', it doesn't matter what her actual record is. http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/09/03/sowell/index.html

Anymore, a fiscal conservative is like a dodo bird, they no longer exist. Probably the most fiscally conservative person in recent days is Ron Paul, they call him "Dr. NO" because he votes against all unconstitutional spending. Lets face it though, a couple million for a sports center, is a good investment in the area. If you were living in Alaska, you would love to watch the games every now and then too. All the revenue brought in from sports can be a real boost to an economy too. Even with earmarks to something like that, it sure beats our taxes going through the roof to pay for EVERYONE to have health care. Not to mention, that when you let the government run anything it becomes inefficient, I am dealing with government run health care now in the Army. Trust me it stinks. The doc who did surgery on my shoulder and messed it up is now the doc who will be working on my knee, and there is nothing I can do about it.

Yes, but this was for use by the public. Not much entertainment available in that town. She also sold the state's jet airplane assigned to the governor and stated " i will take a commercial flight, just like everyone else". The money was placed back into the states money fund.
