What exactly is he saying that bothers you so much? Are they sexual, religious, political? How good is this friend? Does he value you as a friend? Isn't there a certain amount of trust between friends? Does this paranoia happen anywhere else, or with anyone else?

What he says isn't anything like that. When I made a comment and used the phrase "pal", he corrected me and said he wasn't my "pal", he was my "buddy", which should have made me feel better. I guess it was just the way he said it, is all. I mean, it sounded like he was just kidding around,so maybe I'm making it out to be something it's not. He is a good friend to me, and has said that he values my friendship, and that means alot to me that he said that. You're right, there should be an amount of trust between friends, and if there isn't, than it says something about the friendship.
