I loved The Matrix, Pitch Black, Dark City and Bladerunner, but I think my favorite sci-fi movie of all time is Dune (original). Frank Herbert is a master storyteller and David Lynch brought this epoch tale to a beautifully surreal life.

Some favorites of mine are most likely ones he's already seen: * the original " Village of the Damned " * " Gattaca " * " Dark City " * the original " The Day the Earth Stood Still " * any of the " Invasion of the Body Snatchers ", I'm partial to the original and the 1978 versions.

"Forbidden Planet" is the absolute best Sci Fi movie I have seen. The only one that even comes close to it is "The Day the Earth Stood Still."
-
OK, here's a topic I LOVE! It's difficult to narrow it down to the BEST, so I'll post several of my personal favorites: Classic SciFi: "Forbidden Planet" and the original "The Day the Earth Stood Still" are pretty near the top of my list, if not actually at the top. Also, "Metropolis" (1927) has to be on this list as well. Gagger SciFi: "Plan 9 From Outter Space"...but let's be clear here: I'm a lover of the old Grade-B SciFi flicks. I love the cheesy special effects, the lousy acting skills, the poor plots, and so on. But THIS movie takes the cake! It is perhaps the most cr*ppy Grade-B SciFi movie EVER MADE. I laugh my butt off every time I watch it. I don't know if it was ever on MST 3000, but it SHOULD have been. Comedy: "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavora" This movie is an intentional parody of the old, Grade-B SciFi flicks. made with the same type of cheesy plot, poor special effects, and lousy dialog, it is a FUNNY movie for all people who like the older Grade-B SciFi flicks. Oh, and the chick that plays "Animala" is my wife's cousin, which I think is pretty cool! "The Three Stooges in Orbit" and "Abbott and Costello Go To Mars" Contemporary: "Terminator 2". A personal favorite of mine due to outstanding plot, acting, and special effects. But he's probably seen it. "Alien" and "The Thing" (1982) as well. Most of the Marvel comic book adaptations I've enjoyed as well: Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Spiderman, etc.
