  • We have cut our spending by doing more things ourself. First, I make nearly all our meals, and pack a lunch for Hubby and my Grandson to take to work. Second, we buy most of our clothes at the charity thrift store, or at the lowest price sales. Third, I have stopped giving money to my oldest son to pay for his games and movies. If he wants entertainment, he has to buy it without my help. I have always been a very frugal person, so we don't need to cut back too much.
  • my spending has been cut to almost bare minimum. groceries: I buy most items ONLY when on sale and all generics. no fruits, sweets or veggies. only meats like chicken, hot dogs and bologna. I never go out to a movie or take a overnight trip. I eat fast food about 1x a month..used to eat at a steak house 1x a week. I have cut down the amount I eat due to cost of food. I take shorter showers (hot water), keep the air set higher , etc. I buy ONLY what is a necessity.
  • Long story short: Stop buying stuff you don't need!!
  • Yes, I have cut my spending. I no longer buy the good stuff (like chocolates). I just buy the essential food items, the ones that I really need to boost my energy. I have also stopped going to shopping malls. I didn't only reduce transportation costs, I was able to avoid impulsive buying as well.
