On Medieval Total war II, why do all the soldiers in my crusade keep deserting? I move them the maximum amount each turn.

It depends on the religion of the province you put them in. Catholic provinces with a devout population will have a smaller cahnce of dessertion. Try sending a priest ahead of them, or even a group of priests, and put some priests into the army. and the leader of the army should also be very devout as well. if you move them by boat, they can't desert into the ocean (I think) and you can stop on islands and pick up Mercs. You can also skip all the other islamic nations and go straight for Jerusalem, saving a lot of battle casualties.
