I set aside my pop-tart as i read a book. my kitten, Picasso, began nibbling on it. i held it out for her and she ate half of my pop-tart (i didn't eat after her). I thought that cats were carnivors? Anyone else's cat / pet, eaten unexpected things?

My cat likes cantaloupe, green olives and pickles. She's one strange cat. She likes to show her love for me by bringing moles she's killed and setting them on my door mat.

My cat eats tones of things I wouldn't expect. Heck I have outside cats that eat pretty much anything we throw there way

Yes mine actually has a sweet tooth and LOVES twinkies, pastry cream, muffins, cookies and pop-tarts. Which is not at all good because we just found out that he is prone to crystals and stones and ended up in pain one day because I was an idiot and gave it to him thinking it was cute. Just like in the case of diabetics... No sugar! Cat's can get it too.

Oh yes...we have a cat that likes pastry. I made pie the other day and he was begging for it...he ate some of the crust crumbs. Several of our cats like potatoes, BBQ sauce, cheese.. I had a cat who loved apples and bananas. In fact, if she smelled bananas she would literally "hunt" you down. And she'd even lick the inside of the banana peal. I had another cat who loved french fries, especially McDonald's.

I hope that wasn't a chocolate pop-tart. Chocolate will kill a cat. My farm cats would eat any leftovers we offered. They particularly liked pasta. When we did a big freezing of sweet corn and sat on the front lawn shucking Silver Queen, they would sneak in and steal ears and drag them off in the bushes to eat them.

I read that cats would not eat sweets. Right!! My cat Pipsqeak love the cream filling inside of a cream roll. Will swat at me even, to get some. All of my cats eat weird stuff. Little Baby will eat almost anything you put in front of her. The other day she ate some jellied cranberry sauce.

lol, my kitty, Milo, who passed away many yrs ago, used to eat tomatoes, she was the best ever. my doggy, Lita Marie who passed away last year ate pickles, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce...and alot of other crazy things that i cant remember. she was probly the best dog EVER made...:) so i think its normal for animals to eat weird things.

my dog loves raw potatoes and hominy (he won't eat..but he eats hominy). and he goes nuts for the whip cream in the aerosel bottle/can

I had a cat that loved cucumber and melon. Another that loved crisps - the spicier the better. My sister's cat will eat anything that isn't locked in a cupboard.

Our cat loves cake. And it is a myth that cats are solely carnivores. In the wild, cats eat the stomachs of their prey, which are full of digested green matter. That is how they get their fibre. It also helps them digest. Domestic cats will eat grass for the same reasons.

Both my cats will eat cookie crumbs from the floor, it is actually quite handy. Also, my female cat loves salsa. When I was a kid, I had a siamese cat that loved to lick apple cores.

The dog eats anything that falls on the floor, even lettuce. He also eats what the cats bury outside sometimes.

Cornbread in our house gets eaten by the female cat. The male cats loves grape tomatoes.
