    I don't find ratings helpful anyways. I think rating people's answers is problematic, as more often than not the highest rated answer is the most "popular" answer, rather than the answer that is best or the most true. Popular does not = true. My suggestion is just not to pay much attention to them anyways.

    I know of no effective way to stop it. I suggest you simply turn off your ratings and just ignore it. It doesn't affect your own score, anyway, and it only shows up in the ratings box for a short time, until it's covered by the positive ratings. No one will ever know it happened.
