It's sucks. Right now we're learning the "Russian Lesson" the hard way. Afganistan is a loose - loose situation - and it will never be sorted out. You can't install "democracy" at the point of a gun. Here's an old Russian probverb that applies here - You can't tame wolves by throwing rocks at them - all that will do is bring more wolves.
