She is against the government wasting money. That is all the credentials I need.

What people don't seem to get is that you pick the president for his/her judgment and school of thought. They have advisors that present them will all the information they need to make an educated decision. They don't have to be an expert in everything.

She's a governor, which is a lot more like being President than a seat in the Senate. That alone gives her all the credentials she needs.

Does Obama have any real political credentials???
    .
    .
    .
And yes, Sarah Palin does have credentials......unlike all of washington she actually DID come from an "average" home with "average" income......the has shown herself to be a reformer of sorts and not afraid to speak up when something is wrong......She has more experience than obama (in terms of time in politics)......

ANY governor would make a better President than any Senator. Senators are paid to talk, but do nothing. Presidents need to know how to operate a bureaucracy. That's why the best presidents have been governors first. The fact that senators can operate as President only underlines the fact that the job isn't really as critical as we pretend. In fact, George Washington had NO political experience. He didn't want the job. And yet he was the best president we ever had, mainly because he decided that he would be an example for the future. Too bad it didn't take.

    Simply99 -- Not a fan favorite.

She served on the school board, was a city Mayor, then Governor. She really has more administrative and political credentials the Senator Obama.

Yes, for she was a mayor for some time and then the governor of Alaska. It is true that she has been in politics only as long as Obama. However, being governor is QUITE DIFFERENT than being but a senator who merely collaborates and signs bills, voting "present" in a good many controversial decisions. Let it be known that she has a 80% approval rating in Alaska, which means she is the most popular governor in America!

Governor of Alaska, is really good credentials considering the governor of that state is more likely to deal with foreign affairs than in other states.

DUH, she's been a Governor for TWENTY WHOLE MONTHS. Also, she went to the University of Idaho and graduated with a journalism degree - so you know she's a smart cookie. I really don't see how people can say that she's not qualified to be one waning heartbeat away from the most powerful office in the land.

Oh, and if there were any more doubts about her political credentials: old white men find her attractive.

    To quote writer Joe Rothstein:

“During the 6 years she was mayor, Wasilla had about 5,000 residents. Most of the management work was delegated to a city administrator. During her tenure, general government expenditures increased by 33%, tax collections increased by 38%. She inherited a city with no debt and left it with indebtedness of $22 million, most of which was used to build a sports complex….which continues to be clouded by litigation over who owns the land where the complex was built.

This is a record worth multiple standing ovations?

....And about her record as Governor of Alaska....Alaska has a huge budget surplus. This year it could be as much as $8 billion. Not only that, the state has about $50 billion locked up in a “permanent fund,” which earlier administrations and legislators, and ballot initiatives created long ago as a way to hedge the state's bets when the oil runs out.

Because of its oil wealth and small population Alaska has no income tax or sales tax. If you live in Alaska for a year you are eligible to receive a dividend from the permanent fund. In a few weeks, nearly $3,000 will be distributed to every man, woman and child in Alaska. Sarah Palin's family---with its five children---will receive more than $20,000.

Let's face it. Alaska is like no other state in the union, where governors struggle to balance services with taxes.

It's true that as governor Palin fought the oil companies. But the fight was whether to tax them more. She led the fight that resulted in virtually doubling the tax on oil production. Now she's fighting them again---to try to force them to develop undrilled natural gas resources.

The $40 billion natural gas pipeline she took credit for in her speech is only a figment of anyone's imagination. A Canadian company is looking into its feasibility. If and when the line is built it will be heavily subsidized by the U.S. federal government."

Yes. She is the governor of a State. She won an election and she has run a government. She has credentials. Some may argue more than the other two which haven't had executive experience and never had responsibility soley on their own shoulders. Some will disagree with this answer but the answer is rather obvious. She is a governor. It is true Alaska is a state even if she can see Russia from her house.

Unlike Mr. Obama (who is pro-abortion and then some), Ms. Palin is pro-life. The right to life is enshrined in this county's Declaration of Independence. Mr. Obama and the rest of the liberals don't get it -- without the right to life no other rights matter.

When faced with uncertainty about human life, you always error on the side of life because anything else shows homicidal intent. I'll take my chances voting for Ms. Palin even if it turns out to be a mistake. At least I erred on the side of life.

In general, many hard working citizens that are Democrats feel as if their party has left them. The Democratic party of 2008 caters to the liberal fringe -- abortion through all nine months (and then some), homosexual "marriage", socialism, etc. People with families, both Democrats and non-Democrats, do not want these radical, anti-family ideas pushed on them and their children.

The taxpaying citizens that are Democrats have been abandoned by their party.

Yes a lot more than Obama who has NEVER completed anything. IN Illinoise he voted present on every important issue that came before him IN the US senate he was never there. He is completely lacking in legislative experience , even though he had two legislative positions. He has no verifiable experience. He is a ROOKIE presidential candidate and will have to have OJT .

Running the state of Alaska, is a bit more than Obama is doing as a Senator.

Really, I was a bit put off finding out he didn't actually "vote" on a lot of issues, but voted "present". What the heck is that? He did nothing.

I'm beginning to rethink how I will vote in November.

Probably not... I believe that she is there for no other reason but to regress women back into being nothing beyond the 1950's ideal of; Barefoot, useless, irrational and pregnant. Just where McCain would like for them to be.

Nothing wrong with being a mom, but we are so much more now days in addition to being great mothers...We have it all and they want it all back!

I really think that Hilary really threw him for a loop in deciding to support Obama! Her speech was eloquent, poignant and relevent!

So... it seems that if you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

BUT... If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.

    Comical.

When first approached to fill the position, she said... AND I QUOTE...

"I don't even know what the VP is supposed to do."

    So no!

As I don't believe that there is a VP for dummies book out yet and even if there were she couldn't get through it in only a few weeks with any lasting abilitys to show for it.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, she will have to learn by doing.

it took her 6 colleges before she found one with low enough standards to give her a degree. the only reason she was selected by mccain was because she'd been a beauty queen. he has a fondness for beautiful women - ask that chick he spent the night with on the boat who'd starred in the princess diaries.

the more i understand about who she is the more i understand she's a risky choice. Yes, she has (a lot) more energy than McCain and the Reps probably believe she can get some female votes, but there seems not to be more than that. I it won't be necessary but McCain might need a stronger figure if he is to win the elections.

Someone please list them for me? As I understand she's only served as Govenor of Alsaka and did not finish her term. She's known for "The bridge to nowhere". She's got alot of money behind her. She and her husband are ruthless and you'd better not get in their way. And Bristo (?) Palin you can see is not dancing because she moves so gracefully. Her mother is in the action there too. And it seems mom has pulled strings to get her and keep her on. Palin (the mother) comes across like a ditso. But than again politicians are a bunch of clowns aren't they? So as I think about it, Palin (the mom) maybe she's in her right eliment after all. Oh ya, she also won a beauty contest, a big one! That gives her ALOOOTTT of credebilty. I'm bias to be honest incase you can't tell. I dislike Mr and Mrs Palin and feel sorry for the rest of the family members. Everytime I see her or read a headline (which I just have to read) I put a large empty trash can over my shoulders and beat it repeatedly with a hammer! AAAAw already am feeling much better. See ya.
