If the cat is not fixed... it most likely has roamed a wee bit further in search of fun and excitement - may have gotten into trouble - trouble can be roamed so far it is lost or tangled with a car. If not fix it could have tangled with a car, gotten in a fight with other cats, been attacked by a dog, been picked up by a kid who told their parents that found a cat and want to keep it... Or on a darker note nasty teenage boys got a hold of the cat and did nasty teenage boy torture. Or... There are too many things that could have happened. I have had a cat get stuck in a tree, a cat stuck at the top of a telephone pole, I have had a cat who just decided he liked it outside so much he never came back inside - hang out by the wood shed and became 'feral'. I have had cats ran down by cars, cats poisoned on accident or otherwise.... Its not an easy and safe world out there. I have also had cats that disappeared for a long while then returned, and they never told me what they did for all that time no matter how many times I demanded an answer. Prepare for the worse, hope for the best. In future if you have an indoor cat keep them an indoor cat - in all honesty a cat who is domesticated and kept indoors is not going to have the defensive tools to survive what the world can throw at it. even feral cats, cats born and raised on the rough streets have a very short life span and get into a world of hurt.

My housecat got out at 4:00AM Sunday, Oct 12 (once feral) and has not returned. I put flyers in all my neighbors mailboxes with special request to check their garages and sheds, as he is very shy and pron to noises. Most of my neighbors mowed their lawns the day he went missing, so I worry he is far away by now. But hoping he is trapped and will soon be found. I've had many people at work tell me stories of cats who went missing for 2 weeks and found their way home. I fear my chances recovery him become less with each passing day. Somehow I feel I've failed him and it hurts. I miss him so much! Don't stop searching.
