yes. it is and it's against mine. The law has basically taken away all freedoms we have and they have NO right to tell me I have to wear my seatbelt. there is no proof that seatbelts save anymore lives than not wearing them. even if I do die without one, it is my choice whether to wear one or not. I believe this was passed only so they could have a reason to give you more tickets for money.

In California, seat belts became required under the theory that a non-seat belt wearer does cause more damage to themselves than someone that wears one and that raises the medical costs of saving that person's life. And the State and Federal government pay the medical bills and lifetime disability payments for those without insurance and those that are under-insured, which is a great many people. Same deal with having to wear a motorcycle helmet.

Lawmakers say they do it to save lives but this is not true. If they were concerned about saving lives, they would require the mandate for Motorcycle helmets (this is not a national mandate). It’s not about safety it’s about lobbyist and who can influence policy. Big brother has to much control over individual rights.

Well, you do not have a "human right" to drive in the first place. Thus, if the government wants to condition your privilege to drive on wearing a seatbelt, there can be no violation of any rights.
