It IS possible, depending on the nature of the bullying, the people involved, and the authorities. But really, Jacobb...I would expect better of you as a fellow bagger. Come on, dude. Wise up!

I doubt it. In most places, if you try and report cyber bullying, the most you get is "turn off your computer". If the bullying leads into threats however, it can get serious. It also depends on what kind of bullying you're doing. Apparently, if you impersonate a police officer or other form of authoritative figure online and claim to use your profession against others online, you can get in deep shit. Even cyberstalking isn't taken seriously by the authorities, unless used by pedophiles to track down children in real life, or people attempting to commit fraud through various means. I mean the police are, I believe, by all rights supposed to answer your call about it, but with the amount of stuff that goes on online, they probably don't bother that much, and maybe they should, you never know which one is really dangerous. Although not so long ago, a women was arrested for pretending to be a 15 year old boy, having an online relationship with a girl, who eventually killed herself because of something surrounding that. Don't know what the charges or sentence was, though. Eventually there might be stricter guidelines about these things, especially for people trying to track others down in real life without their consent. But, just getting called names, or having rumours spread about you, I don't think many people do anything about that. If you need help or further information though, check out www.cyberangels.com

Yes. I know of a case where someone was ordered to pay the guy he was accused of bullying almost $180,000. This is a fact. It is not just something I read on the internet.
