Absolutly not!!!! A police officer is a representative of your local government.A professional. There is nothing Professional in not doing your job.

Absolutely not. A police officer should be held to a higher standard than the average citizen while on duty. That type of behavior could be considered harrassment by some, and should NEVER be perpetrated by a police officer on duty!

in uniform yes (although not cat calling - show some respect) But not while on duty. And a high level of discretion should still be used when in uniform and not on duty.

Police officers arent allowed to drink on the job, and while wearing their uniform they are supposed to be the model citizen. they not only represent their precinct but also their city, so no they shouldnt be trying to pick up women while they are in uniform

Absolutely positively not. The police are there for a job while they are on duty. If its off duty and their free time and they choose to pick up women thats a whole different story, but if they are working they should be doing their job, and thats not protecting and serving unless the woman is being assaulted, harrassed, etc. I would have to say they are harrassing women if they are oversteping their boundaries while on duty. They can even lose their job. I had an incident similar to this and the police followed me from a hotel, corned my car in without usng flashers, went through my personal items and stared at my panties, asked why I was at a hotel , what concert I was in the area to see, who I was with, best part when they followed and corned me they never used flashers, asked for id, registration, or insurance. Overall in the end they strip searched me, and at that time I didnt know a male police officer couldnt strip search a female so I did what they said, they were the police, not one officer, 3. This question brought back a scary situation for me, so I hope that police officers continue to do their jobs appropriately and not try to get with women while on duty.

no not all, isn't he supposed to be setting an example to others?

I am a police officer and can tell you unequivocally it is completely unethical for a policeman, who is a public servant, to do such things while in uniform. Wearing a uniform shows people you stand for something larger than yourself, and people get the wrong idea when its worn by people who instead of protecting are using their status to pick up women.
