I was 12. My little sister had a cold, so my mom told me to bring in the empty recycling bin into the garage. (Anyone can see what a grave injustice THAT was.) So I stormed out of the house, right past the recycling bin, and down the steet to the pond at the bottom of the hill. There I sat on top of the sewer that drained into the pond, felling quite justified in my rage, and knew that I was "showing them." Then my dad drove past, on his was home from work. I got very scared, and laid back so as not to be seen. (Not that he was looking for me, this is pre-cell phone and I'd only been gone mabe 15 minutes.) After about another 15 minutes I walked back up the hill to my house, snuck in the still open garage and hid in the rec room. I could overhear my parents calling friend's houses, and asking to get a call if I showed up. My mom came downstairs, and out the grage door, to go drive around and look for me. I opened the car door to stop her and that was the end of that. Total time missing: about 40-45 minutes.

I must have been about 4 yrs old. In the midst of WWII and I had just found out about airplanes. I decided to go find one. We lived in Colorado Springs, CO. I got on my tricycle and headed off. I guess I had gone about 4 or 5 blocks and had to go to the bathroom. I was standing beside my tricycle crying when two elderly ladies heard me outside their home. They brought me inside and put me on the toilet. they then called the police. As it turns out my parents had already missed me and had called the police. It wasn't long until my parents picked me up and took me home. Ironically I was headed in the right direction for Peterson Army Airbase.

I was 11 took my dad's bike and fled. Got hungry went to subway to buy a sandwich and got caught there. Was gone for about 5 hours.

i was in third grade. i don't even remember what i was upset about. i left the house after dinner, and went wallking around for quite some time. once it started to get dark, i decided to find a place to spend the night. i found a nice little spot in some brush. but it started to get colder and i wanted to go home. i walked in the backdoor at one in the morning. my parents were still awake watching t.v. but the didn't notice me come in and hadn't noticed i was gone.
