  • The gasoline from the old metal can is the culprit. Gasoline becomes stale and filled with trash, if it sits for a long time. Sounds like your fuel pump is totally clogged. Sorry to say this, but your gas tank may have to be taken off, in order to reach and clean your fuel pump. Only a mechanic should do this. It could be expensive.
  • Replace both power relays in the fuse box under the hood. This should solve the problem. When one goes bad, the other seems to go with it. The relays are the large {approximately 2/3 inch square} relays to the front side of the fuse box. Good luck. May cost about $40.00 total.
