  • I don't like to be trapped either, but I don't normally begin to think of it that way until it starts staring me in the face.
  • Yes, I am the same way. I have a fear of large crowds, so I am always looking for an escape route, LOL.
  • Sort of. I spent a few years as a crew member on a combat aircraft. With my job, I would be the last to exit the thing if we got hit by a missile, or had to bail out for any reason. I am sort of claustrophobic, anyway. I like to be able to smell fresh air and have a good straight shot to the exit...I am not a psycho about it, just a matter of comfort.
  • I never thought about it before. I tend to like sitting in the dead center of an aisle (several aisles back from the middle) at the movie theater for the best overall viewing experience. I guess the theater is never really packed when I go, so I am not worrying about stepping over seven people if I decide I want to get up. I only notice the exits because the movie theater commercial makes me :-P
  • When we go we usualy sit at back on edge .Dont know why though lol.Another thing is i cant drive a car with the window up always open a bit lol.
  • I did that in the past. Now I sit where I can get the best view. I always take notice of where the exits are, especially after the fire at the concert in Rhode Island about 6 years ago.
  • I am not claustrophobic, but I prefer always to have one side of my seat clear...I find it a bit uncomfortable sitting in between 2 people... and exit points were never the criteria while choosing my seats...
  • Per theatre managers and workers- The best seats are those on the sides of the theatre, in particular the right side. That's where we sit since I'm married to an ex-theatre manager. :) I always sit on the aisle seat. We don't go to crowded movies. We'd rather be comfortable, have the seats we want, and enjoy.
  • yes! i always like to be somewhere near an exit, i hate being caught up in the middle of anything or anywhere :)
  • The aisle seats and in the back and front are good for leaving to get snacks, for the restroom, to get out quickly at the end of the movie and for leaving if the theater catches fire, etc. We always sit near on on the aisle.
  • yes similar. But my biggest need to not be trapped is in tall buildings, especially hotels or apartments, I always have to know where the fire escapes and exit doors are, close to the room we will stay in, but prefer to be on a lower ground floor, .........
