Interview with a Vampire, hands down the best vampire movie ever. CG effects and gore are nothing compared to a brilliantly entertaining plot. The sequal, queen of the damned, however, was awful

The original Hammer Dracula with Christopher Lee. (I could never realy get into Nosferatu because it's a silent film.)

Vampires today have been ruined, the sexual aspect is focused upon WAY too much in modern vampire movies, and movies like "Blade" have tried to make it too technical and take all the mystery and true horror out of them.
I like the old days, when vampires had dignity and ruled despoticaly over small centrall European villages, now they're all flash and no substance.

Vampires are supposed to represent a delicate balance between good and evil, between animal and human aspects of human nature, back then they had a mask of humanity, and they were truely scary, now they're just animals, reduced to bare facts and stripped down to technicalities.

Sorry if I'm ranting, but the ruination of classic literary charcters realy gets me peeved.

I find all the vampires movies so-so in comparison to the Anne Rice vampire series of books.

A bit aged but the 1987 teen vampire movie "The Lost Boys" is still one of my most favorite.

Bram Stoker's Dracula. Mainly because it stuck more to the true nature of a vampire. Not some black guy with a bunch of guns, or some chick in leather also with a buch of guns. I like it better when vampires fight and exist and fight ON THEIR OWN! Its not like they need them.

    God I love vamp flicks!!!

I'm going to say that "Interview with the Vampire" was done the best, but my favorite vampire movies of all time have got to be either "Lost Boys" or "To Die For" and "To Die for 2: The Son of Darkness".

Probably the original Hammer Dracula starring Christopher Lee. But I have a soft spot for Nosferatu.
And a film released a few years ago called "Shadow of a Vampire" that was about the making of Nosferatu.
