Has anyone on here been on Synthroid (for Thyroid), and had problems losing weight that may be attributed it using the med?

Hi Big D.. I use Levothyroxine and I can't loose weight either. The reason is you have a low metabolism. I weight 128 and usually weight 112 and I'm 5'5"

I don't think it is from the med. I've been taking Synthroid for many years. I was skinny as a rail and ate like a Marine, until my thyroid went on the blink. I started to balloon up, my fingernails became really thin, I had no energy, felt dull in the brain and gained a whole lot of weight. Once I was diagnosed with a thyroid problem and began taking synthroid, I re-gained my energy, am able to think again and that is where it ended. My fingernails are thin what there is of them. Still have some of the weight. Synthroid took away some of the symptoms but did not restore me to where I was before, doesn't seem to be a cure just a help. I'll be first in line if they come up with something else that works better.
