Who care's? As long as they put their butts out in a designated can and don't throw them just anywhere. Same goes for the pot-heads and their butts. It's all the same ain't it? Smoke is smoke and a butt is a butt. Some just smell better or worse to some people. Most people tend to gravitate more to the pot smokers for some strange reason....and allow them to get away with more. I like Camel Lights, myself.

Yeah, I guess. A lot of cigarette smokers like to drop their butts where they're standing, and our Perth beaches are just too pristine for that kind of crap.

Who wants to walk bare foot on butts? If you have any lung disease, even outdoor smoking can cause an attack.

I dont think it is a good idea. It is out in the open. I think the smokers, should put there cigarette butts, in proper containers, such as bring an ashtray with them, or a soda bottle, etc, then dispose of it when they get home. I hate when people litter, you should take back everything you brought.

I don't like it anytime that the goverment limits our lives to live the way we want. I am not a smoker, except the occasional cigar, and I hate the smell of cigarett smoke, but I feel that they should be able to smoke if they want. It is unfortunate that they have decided to just throw butt whereever they feel creating this problem. It isn't about the smoke, or the health problems that many feel come from 2nd hand smoke (still no scientific proff that 2nd hand smoke is unhealthy by the way) but is simply about the litter problem. It would be great if we could just ticket those that don't dispose of the butts properly and allow the majority of considerate smokers to engoy their grits. But we don't have enough cops to go around just writing litter bug tickets. But here is something to think about...what if we treated blacks, or mexicans, or asians or pick your favorite minority group, the same as we treat smokers? how would that be fair? just a thought.

YES!! I used to have this friend who smoked and thought the sand was her personal ash tray. I hated it!
