I have a 77 chevy c10 w/350. I installed new carb fuel pump fuel filter etc. Ran great for a while now it runs nice for about 10 minutes then starts idling rough and surges just above idle. When driving once it gets into 3rd gear it chugs. Any Ideas?

sound like you may need a new timing gear, I think the 77's have a neoprene one that falls apart after so many miles, I generally have them replace it with new all metal and new chain then valve adjust etc.. Of course it could also be tranny, when was the last time you changed the tranny filter or had a band adjustment ?? just something to think about and look at not a mechanic but have had 350's damn good engine if you treat it right.. ~Nemo~

I take it, its a 3 speed auto:. If so, check the modulator valve on the transmission. If this is not the case. Then you may want to check-out the timing, & the timing gear & chain. Good Luck.
