A personal photo Avatar is the best. Seeing a photo of a person, tells me a lot about that person. Personal information should be limited to basics only.

Not really. One can get to know somebody just as well over time without personal details and avatars that are real pictures.

I prefer to see who I am talking to, but some people are private and I respect that.

No and no. I always remind myself that even though the avatar shows a dog, a cat, an inanimate object or something else, there's always a real person behind it. That's more than enough for me. Unless of course you're talking about AB-Bernice. She's just a bot :o)

Though it's nice to see the real person i interact with .. i have found online, one never really knows if the picture presented is the real person. i know of quite a few cases where people use pics of other people and portray themselves as being someone they are not. That cute young guy could be an 80 year old creep for all i know .. lol :)

I will sometimes not answer a question if the name is Annoymous and there is no profile.It just means they have something to hide.
