If you mean the Bible, God is not illiterate because he didnt write it, he spoke to man and man wrote it. Then its been translated, and things CAN get lost in translation.

Please forgive me if I seem dense, I’m not sure I understand the question. How could the Translator (and, in this case, the ultimate Author) of any book be illiterate?
-
Um? What? Why would that mean that God is illiterate? Surely you've seen books or computer programs that are available in multiple languages. Do those mean that there is a growing cadre of illiterate authors and computer programmers? I just don't understand.

After reading the text of the 1830 First Edition of the Book of Mormon I would have to say that if you accept Joseph Smith's story surrounding how he received the Gold Plates and how he "translated" it word-for-word (even letter for letter in some cases according to some accounts) one could only conclude that the God of Mormon is indeed illiterate. But don't believe me, see for yourself. Attached are the first 25-pages. Here's a reference page on some of the errors one will find in the 1830 Edition. http://www.bible.ca/mor-1830-changes.htm And finally here's a good excerpt from WikiPedia on this: "Bad Early Modern English Grammar The Book of Mormon was written in Early Modern English in the same style as the King James Version of the Bible. However, there are numerous grammatical mistakes in the Early Modern English grammar, especially in pronominal usage.[8] * 2 Nephi 1:30-32, Lehi speaks to Zoram: "And now, Zoram, I speak unto you: Behold, thou art the servant of Laban...if ye shall keep the commandments of the Lord, the Lord hath consecrated this land for the security of thy seed with the seed of my son." You/ye are plural pronouns and thou/thy are singular pronouns, but the text inexplicably switches back and forth between them. * 2 Nephi 3:1, Lehi says: "And now I speak unto you, Joseph, my last-born. Thou wast born in the wilderness of mine afflictions..." You, is incorrectly used when addressing a single individual. * Mosiah 2:19-20, King Benjamin says: "O how you ought to thank your heavenly King! ... if you should render all the thanks and praise...." You is the object form of the second person plural pronoun ye is the subject form, but the object form is incorrectly used in subject position here and also in dozens of other places throughout the text." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linguistics_and_the_Book_of_Mormon#Bad_Early_Modern_English_Grammar

Almighty God who created all we see cannot be thought of as illiterate...which means unable to read and write... It was God who created the multiplicity of language... (Genesis 11:7) Come now! Let us go down and there confuse their language that they may not listen to one another’s language.” The Bible was written for our benefit. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
