What is the origin of word "Ramadan" when most of the muslims pronounce it as in "Ramzan"?

Remember that "Ramadan" is an Arabic word. Firstly, any transliteration of Arabic into Latin characters is bound to be imperfect, and secondly accents, and hence pronounciations, will vary across the Muslim word. The name of the Prophet has been transliterated as uhammad, Mahommed, Mahomet and many other variations - yet if one word is common across the Arabic word, it is surely that name. I tmay well be that the Muslims you know pronounce it "Ramazan" - but do all Arabs do so?

The actual word is "Ramadan" as per the Quran (Arabic) and according to Holy Land of Muslims (Riyadh). However, the Asians pronouce it as Ramazan as per the Urdu translation.

It's an Arabic word. رمضان here we have it spelled in Arabic. Remember to read from right to left. The third character in with the dot on top is the letter daad in the Arabic alphabet and there is a dot under the first D in this transliteration of the letter's name. this means it is a heavy D. In languages such as Farsi which use a modified Arabic alphabet, this same letter just makes a simple Z sound instead of a Heavy D. This should help.

I think it is possible (I could be wrong) that you might be confusing the Arabic word Ramadan with a Hindi or other Indian origin word like Ramzan or Ramdan as many Hindi names sound like arabic Words. As previously stated by others it is Ramadan not Ramzan. :-)
