I will laugh even if I don't want to. I always laugh when I get nervous or uncomfortable. But its good to laugh.....so yes I would laugh at myself.

Really, I think that's the only appropriate response. When you get embarrassed, and people knopw you've been embarrassed, they fleel sorry for you, but they also find what happened funny. So there's this awkward feeling everyone gets because they know that everyone else wants to laugh, but they're all trying not to in order to spare your feelings. If you can laugh first, not only do you put everyone else at ease, so they can laugh too; but you're displaying a great amount of maturity by showing that you don't take yourself so seriously that you're blind to the hilarity of the situation. I mean, there is a distinct line between a funny sort of you-just-looked-like-an-idiot embarrassment and that sad you-wetre-just-put-on-display humilitation,; and the latter is never a laughing matter. But, as I said, the former is always better if you can laugh at yourself.

Oh god yes! I don't know if it's embarrassment or just that I find myself so ridiculous, but I have to - if I don't and others do, that's just going to make me look even more stupid! Today I went bowling with a bunch of kids that are so much better than me, and I had to laugh when I missed the pins - it gave them 'permission' to laugh at me too! I even dropped the ball so it went flying in the opposite direction - *away* from the alley! It's all good :)
