  • Texas... We do get snow, though not a lot where I am. Other parts of Texas get a lot of snow, such as the Panhandle. 1-2 inches is not problem. 3-4 is really pretty fun. (We usually don't get that much.) Our bigger problems are ice storms. We get freezing rain a lot. And if it does snow, then the snow melts and refreezes, driving is also very bad.
  • I lived in Seattle - the city shuts down - mostly because people from the midwest have moved there and think they can drive in the snow - and crash. I live in Omaha now - Usually it doesn't effect things much. I go into work late on snow days so that I can see where the real slippery spots are because there are cars on the side of the road - hopefully they didn't hit a cow. Easy enough to drive because its flatter. Note: In the midwest they put salt in the sand that they spray on the streets, In Seattle and the west coast they don't so much because it kills the local fauna and gets in the fresh water lakes. Also in the midwest they have more street sanding machines - it feeds the local economy. Also the car dealerships tend to sell different models in the midwest then they do at the coast - More 4 wheel drives. Your still best not driving too fast at either place despite what some people say. Most people I know who know how to drive in the snow have been in accidents. The ones who arn't so sure usually havn't been in a snow related accident.
  • I live in Western Austrlia, in Perth. If we got snow, there would be a chorus of 'WTF' that would echo through the suburbs.
