Well it would depend on a lot of factors. Imperials can be as small as 3 pounds and as large as 9 pounds. They should only be bred by experienced breeders who research the lines carefully for size, temperment, quality and health. Your girl may be small but are her brothers and sisters? her parents, grandparents, etc. Same thing goes for the male that she is bred to. Is he small? Are his parents, syblings, grandparents etc small? Small does not always produce small and you could run into complications if the lines are not carefully researched. Even if the lines are carefully researched, complications can still arise. Are you prepared to deal with them if they do? Pups of Imperial size are sometimes as small as 2 oz at birth. Do you know how to tube feed? Are you prepared to do this every 2 hours around the clock if you have a tiny one who needs supplimenting? Has your female been x rayed to see if she is capable of delivering pups? Responsible breeders of Imperial shih tzu sell their pups as pets only without breeding rights unless they know that the person that they are selling to is also a responsible, experienced breeder. Did you get full registration and breeding rights when you purchased this pup? There is a lot to consider.
