According to Quran a KAFIR, means a person denying Allah and his existance ( I dont know what infidel means actually) so let me stay with Quran as I know you are curios about our Quran and I know your soul is in search of TRUTH, I dont think you will want to REDICULE GOD himself or his word and face his WRATH, You have seen what god did to PHAROAH. Anyway, Quran says, tell people who deny GOD that there is God, ask them to study nature and ask them to if this world came into being by itself, demand from them proof, tell them ALLAH IS ONE AND ONLY, ALLAH IS ETERNAL, DOES NOT GIVE BIRTH NOR HE IS BORN, THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM ON THIS EARTH OR HEAVENS OR UNIVERSE. This is the message QURAN said will be accepted very soon, by everyone on this earth. A kaffir is someone who covers or hides the true reality so muslims ask Allah to do the same thing for them in reference to their sins that it should be covered (Rabbana kafir anaa say-atina)meaning they would not be judged by it or that it would be changed to a good deed. the true reality that the kaffir is covering up is the reality of GOD's existence, sovereignty and majesty. Islam is also not favorable of Polytheism (Shirk) for which there are many levels but the most obvious being to equate someone or something as equal or part of God. God being the same God that was Understood by Adam as well As Abraham and so on. There is no compulsion allowed In Islam as the Quran forbade it. Many people converted to islam by the thousands without a single drop of blood in many countries around the world but most of them were not Arabic countries. Since the fighting was originally was centered around the opposition to the prophet Muhammad saws and his "new religion" muslims faught out of self defense but were forbiddent to kill an opponent who had converted to Islam. Many people former enemies of muslims converted to Islam out of sincerity and faught along side muslims while others pretended to be muslims in hopes of assasinationg the Prophet muhammad but in those cases all such persons eventaually gave up their initial agenda and became real muslims. If someone does not want to be a muslim you do not have the right to kill him/her so as the Qurani chapter sura Kaffirun (infidel) was quoted earlier by Smisbahuddin it cleary dictates the protocal for dealing with non believers in Islam which is to talk to them and then part from them.

An infidel is anyone who doesn't follow the teachings of Allah So if you are a Christian and believe in God, you are considered an infidel. A christian doesn't kill or murder followers of the islam religion. A Christian shows love and mercy to those less fortunate than they are according to the words of Jesus. The islamic faith is most probably the same as a Xhristians faith. They both believe in God. Unfortunately, humans have made their own laws and have the audacity to state that they do it for God (Allah). It's about time the human race takes a long hard look at the path they are taking, because God (Allah) is not pleased that humans kill and murder in his name.
