When you connect your AC brass or copper hose connectors to your manifold, should you use teflon tape for a more secure fitting?

I use Teflon tape on all threads of all plumping for water - I even use it on the hose bibs since I am hooking up the hoses for the long, long watering season. Tape not only seals the threads without having to put a great deal of torque on the fitting, it also protects dissimilar metals a wee bit more, makes taking the plumbing easier (when - no not if, its only a question of time) it needs to be undone. I even use the Teflon tape for the shower head.
