at the very least get a second opinion. you know your body better than anyone else including a doctor

Only you know what you are feeling, Talk with your doc and voice you concerns. If he/she chooses not to listen or just brushes off you concerns then find another doctor. Good luck.
-
Listen to yourself. Not every doc knows everyhing. Get a second opinion.

Doesn't everything have side effects of one sort or another? What is the severity of the side effects? How much discomfort are you caused? What guarantee do you have that a replacement medicine won't have more/worse side effects? If it is something minor, I'd let it alone. If the side effect interferes with the quality of your life, I'd check around. :)

Did you do any research on the Internet? that can sometimes turn up info from other patients.

Get a second opinion, quickly. My family had a really bad experience with a changed prescription. I don't want to scare you, but I'd look into a second opinion as soon as possible.

Hmmm, would you be comfortable telling us what the medicine is, what it was prescribed for and exactly what your side effects are? I think many of us could give you a more thoughtful answer if we had a little more information.
