  • Who is this stranger? Because depending on the person a $1,000 bucks could either make a huge difference or not change the stranger at all. I think maybe I'd use it to help out a cancer patient who couldn't afford treatment for some reason. It wouldn't be enough because I know the total cost for cancer treatment is way more then that but they've got enough problems as it is and money shouldn't be one of them, I'd like to know I helped a bit to someone who deserves it. If I'm giving it to a perfect stranger nothing changes a life more then saving it and if all someones got to give is $1000 then I think I'd make the same choice as a lot of people
  • I'd send the money to them anonymously with a note saying, "Use this in whatever way you feel is best" It is a small encouragment and sign of more to come IF you choose, from now on, to ALWAYS believe in yourself and know without doubt, NO MATTER WHAT, that you are profoundly loved, guided, and protected,
  • I would walk round the streets til i found someone who looked down on their luck, then i would pass the time of day with them and make a judgement from how they reacted to me, if they were friendly enough I would give them the cash and be on my way!
  • In a faraway land called India, are some villages where on average a family earns US$ 0.55 a day. In a few of such villages, a charitable organization is working towards improving the income earning ability of these families, especially by empowering women, as women's empowerment indeed empowers the whole family. These women, most of whom are illiterate themselves, aspire to give proper education and a good future to their children. I would donate these $1,000 to this organization's cluster revolving fund, for enterprise promotion work and skills training, help women's Self Help Groups identify viable business ideas and support the micro-credit demands of these Self Help Groups to implement those ideas. The utilization of $1,000 in the aforesaid manner will, thus, have a long term and snowball effect over the lives of many individuals, including the future of many children.
  • i KNOW TOO MANY destitute people to go find a stranger there is a homeless man living in a cardboard and cloth shack right next to my office.. harry is his name, never askes for anything but collects scrap ( I would like to get this man a room for a month ($285.00) then get him some clothing, shoes, coat. ( $ 200.) haircut.($12.)a used microwave an sm frig. ($100.) food ($50.) and a job interview for a laborer or warehouse or what ever, with some local venders in my area that i may have some influence with. the rest of the 1000.would be paid to harry in 1 month ( for another months rent and food). hopefuly he would be employed by then !
  • I'm sorry but $1,000 is too little for me to budge. You can't change anyone's life with $1,000 unless you go to a third world country and even then it doesn't last that much. Also, it depends on who it is. Some people are just incorrigible.
  • This was a propostition that was made by Oprah and she had a show on it. There were many people that made a difference in the lives of others, but none that would change their lives. You see in order to change the life of a person you have to provide them with the tools to change it. 1000.00 does not go a long way, but it certainly helps. Tuition for someone to complete school or buy clothes for a person that has nothing to wear on an interview, these things help change the circumstances and gives them the ability to start anew. A ticket bought for a runaway kid does not do any good if therapy is not given also. So If I were given 1000.00 I would find the way to help many people start changing their own lives.
