  • I suspect he was afraid of assassination. At least, I sure would be.
  • Perhaps he thought that Joe Biden would balance out his ticket better in terms of experience. Recall that this was a question of Mrs. Clinton as well on the campaign trail.
  • Might have had something to do with some Hillary's remarks about Obama during their one of their heated campaign debates. She stated point blank that "at least McCain brings some experience to his ticket, something Obama has none of to offer the Democratic ticket".
  • Hillary would have been political suicide. She has way too much baggage thanks to her husband and is an extremely toxic old broad as well. The media loved Hillary, at least until Barak Hussein Obama came along. I've honestly only met one person who actually said they would vote for her. Truth be known I'd rather have Hillary than Obama but in reality I doubt Obama will win either, Particularly because of his VP choice. I have not met one person who said they will vote for him. He is a media darling and is being propped up by them to give the appearance that he is far more popular than he really is.
  • She is not trustworthy..they can't stand each other..she would spend her time undermining/sabotaging and undercutting him. She is ruthless and so is billyboy and who the he** needs that? Any Democrat who is so pissed that hillary isn't the nominee who would vote for McCain is a liar...no respectable Democrat would ever vote for this guy. So they are liars, closet Republicans. I'm glad Obama didn't cave..why would you choose someone who is so obviously desperate to have your job, no matter what the cost? That is illogical, unreasonable and ridiculous! :) Happy Monday, m'dear! :) ((hugs))
  • Hillary doesn't want Obama to win. She wants him to lose so she can run again in four years.
  • Chiefly because nobody with serious aspirations to run as President should ever put themselves on the ballot as a VP candidate; if the Presidency is a success, the President will be elected for another 4 years and there is no window of opportunity for the VP to move up to the main office; if the Presidency is deemed a failure, the VP will be tarnished by association and become unelectable in their own right. See Al Gore for the perfect example. Also, the two hate each other, and Obama knows that Hillary would be working towards her own agenda rather than supporting his, which is exactly what you DON'T want in a running mate.
  • I would think that it would be hard to switch your thinking from trying to beat someone to working closely with them...
  • Obama dislikes bixesual females. My 2 cents.
  • 4 reasons a. the bitter primary battle, it got pretty nasty if everyone recalls and I think feelings were permanently bruised b. Bill Clinton and his baggage c. Fear of harm coming to him d. I do not think they personally like each other
  • If He picked Hillary and she said yes, the Repubs would have attacked him because he needed her to win. If He picked her and she said no, the Repubs would have pointed out how he flubbed his first bid decision. Lastly, she is a very polarizing person... you love her or you hate her.. there is no middle ground, and though she would have helped him in some states, she would hurt him in many more.
  • I don't think it really matters. We can speculate about this all we want, but it won't change that he picked Joe Biden as his running mate.
