  • the whole "i need him to care for me" thing won't work with immigration officers.. if you have ANY idea how tough things are for middle eastern applicants for visa to UK/USA, you KNOW it will take atleast 8-20 years after he sends in his application your best bet is to marry him in beirut and THEN apply on HIS behalf when you are in UK
  • From what I know about the UK immigration system, he'll need to have enough points to get in OR be coming to study, or come on a fiance visa. Points are earned by being able to speak English, having a job offer, having the potential to earn over a certain amount of money each year, having a degree, his age and so on. You can't apply for him to come here as a common law partner, because you'd have to have been living together for 4 years. You can apply for a fiance visa for him -- you'll have to prove he can support himself without depending on the government when he gets to the UK. Then when he gets here, you'll have to get married within six months. I'm not sure if it'll affect your case if you're not a Uk citizen as opposed to resident, that's something else you should research. This is the governments website http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/ -- it has much more information than my answer.
