  • it shoulb be tighed at 175 foot pounds
  • Yes you can. When you tighten it down you tell if it is tight by checking rotational force. If it has new bearing it is between 15 to 30 inch pounds and if using old bearings 10 to 20 inch pounds. The is no foot pound torque for the nut.
  • Is that a dare? I bet I probably could, especially if I used a cheater bar. Unfortunately torque wrenches that read in that range are somewhat expensive, but they are available to rent at many places. DO NOT DO THE JOB WITHOUT A TORQUE WRENCH. The consequences of over-torquing the yoke can be *very* expensive. Good luck!
  • Every nut and bolt on a car has a torque spec. Use a torque wrench with the correct torque or be ready to repair what snaps.
