Look for a "degauss" button or control on a menu you can access with the remote. It sounds like part of the screen is magnetized, and you need to clear that out. Do NOT open the TV to work on it. Even an uplugged TV can give you a nasty shock if you touch the wrong part of its innards. Take it to a repair shop if you can't find the degausser.

See if there are any speakers around your tv. The magnets in them often set off red or green tints on the side of TVs. Best of luck.

update Thanks for all the info guys we moved everything out of the room got to find out that with the ceiling fan going we pick up static over the audio on the set then when removing anything electronic and metal from the room we oddly found 1 thing that had a bad effect on the TV some old fancy metal "bucket" for lack of a better name that my wife picked up at a yard sale she uses it to put throw blankets and pillows in when we was taking this out of the room and passed the TV the red'ish tint moved and turned into a red "blob" and even a green one appeared and followed as you walked by with the "bucket" weirdest thing I've even seen! ok going back to look for that degauss button also is it true that some sets will also demagnetize themselves when shutting them down and letting them sit for 30 mins then turning back on (sometimes having to repeat this a few times)? will be back with more updates thanks again guys, glad I found this site
