Probably some of the teachers who get 6 digit salaries in the bigger cities. Many of them put in six hour days and they work 180 days a year while getting the summers off.

I have an answer. I have a relative who's a pilot for UPS (specifically, a captain flying an MD-11). The hourly pay through the Independent Pilots Association (the collective bargaining union representing UPS pilots)? How about $240 per hour (beginning 2nd year of service), ranging up to $262 per hour (15+ years)! And they only work 2 weeks on, then 2 weeks off (for an 81-hour per month guarantee). Do you want any more icing with that CAKE?! Now, on their deadheads they no longer fly Business Class--but First Class. "Can I get you a filet mignon with that glass of Chardonnay?" I don't mean to complain, but I am a Locomotive Engineer and it also took a lot of time and training to get where I am (about 5 years). And I also handle millions of dollars worth of equipment. My hourly union rate? About $23. Should a pilot of an aircraft get paid more? Certainly. Ten times as much--I don't think so. This just goes to show how impotent and invalidic the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers is (not to mention the United Transportation Union representing Freight Conductors). We as Engineers all need to take our union dues to the Independent Pilots Association and see what they can do for us! They are probably represented by a bunch of smooth-talking lawyers who know how to negotiate--unlike the mongoloids representing us over here, who bend over at every opportunity for the (undisclosed) company!

Most people in the USA who earn the most per hour are simply managing their own assets. Often they have those assets in something like say, a sheet metal forming company which they themselves run.

Are you talking wages like for a steady job or what you can charge for an assignment/project if you are a skilled tradesman/craftsman/professional?
