  • Coughing up blood can be caused by SO many things, cancer is just one of them -- and lung cancer generally affects older people, especially smokers. One time when I was in hospital I was stuck on a ward with somebody who had lupus. She coughed up blood constantly, cups and cups of the stuff. They gave her a lot of oxygen, transfusions, liquids. It happened fairly regularly, she'd get ''better'' and then have a flare up every couple of months. It's also worth noting it can just seem like you're coughing up blood -- if you cough violently you can cause minor tears which make it look like the blood is coming from your lungs. Fact is; my crystal ball is broken today -- but statistics support the fact it's unlikely you have cancer.
  • I dont think u have cancer!! how much blood was there.. is is recoccuring? I work in a hospital an many people caugh up blood.. different amouts for different reasons.. did u have a cold or bronchitis.. i usually caugh up a bit of blood when i get those.. also have u been tested for tb? its a shot u usually get in school.. try to relax odds are u dont have cancer.
  • I'm 22 a non smoker and I just coughed up blood for the first time ever...I assume its related to my current cold. Perhaps coughing so much with a cold as you stated you've had now for two months caused a blood vessel in your throat to rupture, similar to a nose bleed. At least that's what I am banking on, hope this helped.
