Not at all. I am not a stingy person, but I do have standards. I dont give points out unless they are deserved. There is no point, no benefit to society, by crediting people and promoting poor judgment and poor reasoning. How do you feel about people who are self-righteous enough to think they are deserving of points? What does it say of people who are on this site to collect points and not to help people get questions resolved? Do you really care for answers from people who are more about the points? Frankly, Im surprised I havent had my answers deleted by the system. I have offended many with my interpretations and opinions. Its not my goal to offend, but it is my goal to be insightful even at the cost of insult. I shouldnt have an account any more, much less as many points as I do.

Meh, I don't think it's a good representation of real life. I mean, I'm generous with points, but points are free, you don't have to work for them, we all have an endless supply that we can give out. Unless you max out on a certain user.

I think the scary parallel with real life and AB is that some folks actually forget points aren't real. There is a whole pscyhology behind real money. As soon as users forget, distort, miser, or abuse the point system -- it's the same as having an unhealthy, twisted relationships with real life currency, if not worse.
