  • There is no series "scientifically" the fastest since everyone learns language in a different way. There are 3 general types: • The Visual Learner: This type of learner learns though seeing. They tend to take notes while learning and prefer to see things in writing before trying to say or understand it out loud. They learn faster with pictures, diagrams or video where they can make a connection between something visual and a word or concept. You may see this type of student taking many notes in class and referring to the book when lost. • The Auditory Learner: The auditory learner learns best through listening. He/she can pick up new words and phrases by hearing them and through spontaneous dialogue. It is easy for them to encounter new words in a sentence and learn them through context alone. They tend to be good at picking up the pronunciation in a new language. You may see this style of student taking a tape recorder to class or picking up language skills “in the street”. • Kinesthetic Learners: The kinesthetic learner learns through doing and actively using information. They tend to get the most out of role-plays and active in-class activities that put language in context through actually using it in realistic situations. This type of student may find it hard to sit through grammar and vocabulary lessons, but shines when the language comes to life through interaction. The best thing to do is figure out what kind of learner you are and design your language program around what comes easiest to you.
  • I think immersion is probably the best way to go.
