Help answer this question below.
Me too. All the fees and stuff.
Absolutely.
Always. Our "family rules" state that 500 dollars are placed on Free Parking at the start of every game (increasing after every Free Parking payout at the Banker's discretion), and all income/luxury taxes and fines as well.
i always put money on fee parking. and everyone i have ever played with does the same.
Everything but the money paid for property goes in Free Parking when I play. Makes the game for fun and interesting.
I never understood why Free Parking was never updated in the official rules of Monopoly. I've rarely played Monopoly without using Free Parking as a collection of taxes and other fees. It makes the game more fun and for years many have used it for that purpose (land on Free Parking, get the accumilated loot).
Same here thats how i play.
Yes. Taxes, special events and jail money goes in the middle.
Yeah, all the income tax we have to pay and when u pay 50 to get out of jail, all of that goes in the middle. It's more fun that way. :D
by the way I do
Yes, all the taxes and fees. Its is really nice when your going broke to land on it. And now we have the new version with the credit cards...we thought oh no how will we put money there. But we usually have an extra card that isnt being used by a player and we put that in the middle and add money to it.
the parker brothers way is not to put any money on free parking.
but me and my dad play classic way which is putting taxes on free parking
Sure do unless I'm playing with someone that is real stickler about the rules.
oh yea spices it up a little
Well, we have the computer version of Monopoly and they place all taxes and fines collected on free parking.
No; you usually find a game better balanced and better to play when you play by the designed rules!
omg!! i thot that was a rule onli used by my family! yh i use that its loads betta than puttin it in the bank!
yes
yes we do
Yes. In our house all the money for taxes and fees go in the middle of the board, and the luckey player who lands on free parking gets to claim the jackpot.
Always have played it that way, ever since I can remember (and that's goin' back some).
I do. It just adds a little more excitement to the game. It really pisses me off though, cause it can turn the game around really quick.
I do most of the time. :)
I've always played that any money from fees are put into a pot in the middle and when someone lands on Free Parking, they get that money. And, whenever someone gets the money, the bank adds $50 to start the pot off for the next person.
yes its such a great incentive
Depends on what everyone wants. Usually, we collect all TAXES and award them for landing on Free Parking. That's the Income Tax and Luxury Tax squares plus various CC and ? cards. The cards must say TAX (not street repairs, for instance).
Yes anything not property related.(like chance and community chest) also i put 600 in the middle to start and after someone lands on it.
Of course not. That just prolongs the game. If the object of the game of MONOPOLY is to bankrupt your opponents, why create inflation and leave cash in the game?

I don't. Doing that makes the game last way longer than it should.
Our family does, all the money we have to pay to the bank from the cards and get out of jail money we put in the middle.
It makes the game way more interesting and makes your arm ache much less from reaching into the bank...
All fee's yes.
If you are going to play until all but one player goes bankrupt, then putting money on free parking will keep the game going on for at least an extra hour. For the interest of time, we do not use that house rule.
