You know... I dont know. I dont think there is much of one. Dont take my word for it though, because even though I know Calculus and various other courses to follow, including Differential Equations.... I have only officially had a formal academic education up to pre-calc/trig. A derivative is the modification of a function to express its instantaneous slope at any given point. Do you already know what a derivative is?
