When WW2 broke out many men went to war. In order that the factories be able to supply troops with machinery as such a work force of women evolved to take over the jos. Rosie the Riverter was aterm used to describe those who worked these jobs i order that the men could fight the war. It also opened a door that was at one time considered taboo for women to work outside of the household and take jobs where manual labor was involved. mr bill
