  • Self.com has a page dedicated to your type of question. Click on calculators then select type of activity, in your case hiking. Enter in preference of measurement (US or Metric), your weight, type of hiking, ect. ect. then it will roughly calculate calories burned. I say roughly because it doesn't specify if the weight entered is including pack weight. It stands to reason that you need to include that weight as part of the overall. Also, you have to be aware of how long it takes to travel you route in minutes. I just came back from packing and kept track of my time so that I could enter it. I guess this doesn't help if your trying to plan food and such before going. :) Hope this helps. Good Luck.
