  • Sometimes when you talk to a clerk of the court, they are not interested in providing you with any help. You could try calling someone else and ask how you can get someone to protect your best interest in court. Sometimes they will refer you to an outside legal aid service that has fees based on what you can afford.
  • Yes that is your right! They have to give you someone...it will cost you about 107.00 for a "appointed defender fee". Such a bunch of crap.
  • I don't know much about laws when it comes to DUI but I can tell you this. I got one some years back and that was enough for me. Fortunately I drove against my will in some ways so the judge dismissed it but going thru the motions was enough for me to realize the true meaning of the expression "don't drink and drive"!
  • Are you waiting until you kill someone to quit drinking and driving?
  • You only have the right to an appointed attorney if you cannot afford one. The court has looked at your finances and determined that you can afford one.
