  • Yes. I was about 7 or 8 years old. It was the middle of the night and I saw 3 men trying to break into our house. I could see what was going on through my bedroom window. I could not move even though I told my body to get up. I remember having the distinct feeling of not being able to move despite having the desire to do so. strange.
  • Well, I don't know whether this is sleep paralysis but when I was 6 I woke up and my right leg was paralysed. I could not move it for hours and finally my mother called the doctor and he massaged it and moved it for some time until I was able to move it. I was also suffering from sever pains in my legs which they put down to having several childhood illnesses at once.
  • Thats SO FUNNY I was just about to post a Question on SLEEP PARALYSIS.. but anywhoo.. YES, I have experienced sleep paralysis MANY, MANY times!!! Personally I HATE it to death.. To wake up during REM sleep PARALYZED, to feel like your going to die && not being able to help yourself.. People say, "Well I would just convince myself to move." Well they need to understand that the brain let out a chemical during REM (Rapid Eye Movement)sleep that parlyzes the body so you won't act out your dreams. You have an incresed chance of having it when you sleep face up...
  • It only happened to me once. I was about 12 years old and decided to take a nap on the sofa one afternoon. I woke up suddenly, like I had heard a noise. I could see around the room I think, but every other part of me was paralysed. I tried to shout my Mum, but was unable to. At first I couldn't move anything. Then I got the feeling back in my arms and started getting it back in my legs, but it felt like it took several minutes and worked its way down my body. I remember having to drag myself across the floor because my legs weren't working properly. Took a few minutes for all feeling to come back. This was in the days before the internet and I had no idea what had happened to me. It terrified me so much I was scared of going to sleep.
