Yep!! If it was something worth fighting for or I didn't agree or think it was right....than most definitely!!
-
absolutely. At the end of the day, i'm the only one i answer to.
-
Yes !!! Quite frequently do !!!!
-
If I had a very good reason for breaking that law at the time I broke it, yes. Blind adherence to bad laws just because they ARE laws makes little sense to me.
-
if it's because the law is just wrong then no, but if i was personally connected with a situation and had to break the law to save someone or myself than yes
-
Law only comes in two forms. That which enforces morality (such as murder) and those which regulate government, such as taxes. What other laws are there? No, I dont think subjectifying morality laws puts me on moral high-ground. As for things like taxes and other social/governmental regulating policies... they are also there for a reason. I dont think there is anything moral about depriving the government of necessary taxes and whatnot. Point out one law that neither morally based and doesnt have a practical purpose, and you will have my vote
-
yeah... but i adhere to the ones i know are right
-
If by breaking the law I would be improving/saving/helping another life...then YES! There would have to be a very good reason or the possibility of favorable change (law) in order for me to consider it. The only way to make your dreams of a better world a reality is to stand up for the things you believe in--and that includes paying the price for those changes. (If something is worth having, it's worth working for.)
-
No i won't but i will go to another place that the my heart says the low is right
-
Yup, and I'm soon to be a lawyer.
-
Yes. Especially if it got in the way of me protecting or helping myself or someone else. No problem.
-
i've done it everytime i've thought it lol
-
If I had a reason to, sure. I write a little fiction, and one of my characters is an ex con- she'll tell you, though, she never did anything wrong. Only in the eyes of the law has she done anything wrong, because the law tries to make black and white out of shades of grey.

Pffft! Hell yeah.
-
it don't matter if the law was wrong if my family were at risk i would break every law written
-
depends first on whether the law applied to me. if a law were targeted to attorneys having to file a petition within 15 days, i wouldn't care because the law never affects me. if the law affected me, i'd have to think about how central that law was to my behavior. for example, if it were a law in which the speed limit was reduced to 55 on federal highways, i'd only be affected maybe a dozen times a year. on the other hand, if it were a regulation that i report child abuse to the state authorities, even though i might only come across it a couple of times a year, it's important that i obey that law, even if i know that the perpetrator is now imprisoned for 20 life sentences and it's a waste of time and could re-traumatize the child ...

We really don't have the right to pick and choose what laws we follow. Having said that, I did drink underage among other things. To me it would depend on the penalty. I do also agree with VS Angel that if it means saving a life than you have to throw laws out.
-
i do every day...who has the right to "make" me wear a seatbelt...? no one does, so, law or not, i don't wear one...
-
It would depend on the circumstances. I don't think anyone is perfect and there will always be circumstances where there is a conflict of ethics.
-
I agree with the seatbelt issue. The government almost controls every aspect of our lives. They have NO RIGHT to tell me I have to wear a seatbelt. This bull about it may save your life...if can also kill you if you are wearing it and can't get out of the car. If it's your time, it's your time. I will NOT wear a seatbelt. It's uncomfortable. I can't stand it and in a long drive. it makes my shoulders and back hurt. If they want to ticket me, let them..Pretty soon the gov. will be telling us what to wear, what to eat, where to work..I often wonder how long until we become a communist country.

Only if someones life was in danger otherwise if I thought a law was wrong I would go about trying to change it the legal way by lobbying.
