What kind of saw or tool would i need to cut out an area of wood from a solid piece but not have my hole go all the way through? to just make like a grove. its a project for a homemade guitar, to give you an idea of what i'm talking about.

You should know that one of the old-timers around here (Darryl61) makes guitars on a regular basis. Look up his profile in the "Find answers about" box, and either send him email or post an answer to one of his questions indicating your interest. Otherwise, he may not see your question and you'll probably miss talking to the resident expert on that topic.

A snake, Like a minature replica of a toilet snake, except for tools. You can actually find them at Lowes or HomeDepot for a reasonable price!

Rotozip it is a small power tool if you ask for rotozip they know what you are looking for , there are other brands also.You must use a spacer under it to prevent going all the way thru.
