Will the US invite other countries to particpate in the World Series and if not, should the competiton be renamed?

I see where you are coming from KineticSpirit but you can't just rename a major sporting occasion like that, nearly everyone will react like navyvet1 and that is fair enough. The name is misleading, and it does make America look insular and internationally ignorant (more so than they actually are), but tradition will always win out! Some sort of series between the World Series winners, the Japanese champions, the Cuban champions (not likely) and one of the other league's champions would be a good idea, although the logistics of it with different nations having different seasons and finding a time of year to play it where the weather will be ok mean that it is never likely to happen.
